Microsoft’s new Surface 3 tablet is selling well and selling well.
Its sales have outpaced the sales of most of its competitors in recent months.
The $999.99 tablet, which includes a 5.5-inch screen, a 10.1-megapixel rear camera and a 5,000mAh battery, has been one of the best-selling Windows 10 devices.
The Surface 3 has become the most popular Windows 10 tablet in the U.S., according to IDC’s new tablet survey.
The survey measured Surface sales in the past month, including shipments of the tablet and its accessories, and the data shows the tablet has been a top seller.
Sales of the Surface 3 have exceeded the sales numbers of most competitors in the tablet category, with sales surpassing even Apple’s MacBook Pro, according to the IDC survey.
Apple sold just under 2.5 million iPads in the fourth quarter of this year, according, IDC data.
Microsoft’s sales have eclipsed that figure, with Surface sales outpacing other devices in the market.
IDC is calling Surface a “top seller” and the company has been selling Surface 3s at record levels.
IDCs sales of Surface 3 are outpacing sales of Apple, Lenovo, Dell and Lenovo ThinkPads, which were all reported to have sold at least 50 million devices in 2016.
“Surface 3 is clearly a top selling tablet for the Windows 10 operating system, with a strong lead over other Surface devices in a wide range of markets,” said Paul Thurrott, vice president of consumer insights at IDC.
Microsoft said in a statement that it is continuing to sell Surface 3 tablets and accessories to customers.
The company also said that sales of Windows 10 notebooks, which are typically more expensive than Windows 10 tablets, have also been growing.
“While the company’s Surface line continues to be the most successful Surface device, IDCs Surface Pro line is also strong,” the statement said.
The IDC report also noted that Surface 3 sales have been outpacing Windows 10 sales in other key categories.
For example, Windows 10 adoption and the popularity of the new Windows 10 desktop has made Surface 3 the most downloaded tablet device in the United States, IDPs report found.
